Skimaker Thomas has been building on traditional wooden ski art for over 30 years, and developing skis for today's use.

Thomas has been making skis from solid wood for over 30 years. He teaches courses and makes skis, mainly loose snow terrain skis. Thomas is passionate about communicating wooden skis and skimaking as a craft, and he is committed to creating curiosity and awareness about traditional craftsmanship and how this can be used in the present day. The ski maker takes you on a journey through the history of skis - from the first rock carvings to the "surfing in snow" of the future.

About the course instructors
In traditional Valdres, Skimaker'n, Thomas Aslaksby and Budeia, Kathrin Aslaksby run a farm, stables and micro-cheese factory. Here, operations change with the seasons, from summers filled with cheesemaking and stable life – to winters and courses in skimaking on the farm.
