Structured and creative chef/head chef wanted
Our renowned kitchen needs a new chef and team leader. Would you like to create great dining experiences high in the mountains, with a focus on good ingredients from the valleys and fjords around us – with a brand new kitchen as your workplace?
The traditional Filefjellstuene reopened in a new look in the summer of 2024, with a strong focus on food as a central part of the overall experience. Our kitchen has received very good feedback since the reopening, and now we are looking for someone who can take this one step further.
About the positionFilefjellstuene has a total of 130 beds, divided into hotel rooms, apartments and cabins. Overnight guests make up the majority of our guest base, but we also have many external dining guests, especially during the holiday periods.
Our kitchen serves breakfast and dinner to resident guests all year round, as well as lunch during peak seasons, holiday periods and most weekends.
Job duties:
- Cooking
- Preparation of menus with associated calculations
- Product orders, including contact with local food suppliers
- Staffing planning and recruitment for the kitchen in collaboration with the hotel manager
- Training of new employees
- Maintaining IK and other routines associated with kitchen operations
- Coordination with our reception and booking team
- Budget and profit responsibility for kitchen operations
We are looking for you as:
- Is positive, committed and outgoing
- Have relevant education and work experience
- Can manage the kitchen with a steady hand through different seasons with great variations
- Collaborates well with both own employees and the rest of the hotel operations, and understands the importance of succeeding as a team
- Are interested in using local ingredients in exciting ways
- Fluent in both Norwegian and English
