Avalanche course
Learn about safe travel in the winter mountains with experienced instructors from Tau and Tind.
Learn about safe routes, snow and safety on the go. Suitable for those who can ski but want to learn more about traveling safely on snow on their own.
This 2-day course is suitable for those who have no previous avalanche knowledge, have taken a shorter introductory course previously or want to learn more about safer skiing.
The trips will mainly take place in the Tyin Filefjell area, where the terrain provides good opportunities for fun skiing and varied terrain with good learning opportunities.
Learning objectives:
- Recognizing avalanche terrain
- Using rule-based methods for planning and decision-making on the go
- Know how human factors affect group dynamics
- Be able to conduct effective buddy rescue
- Knowledge of different types of snow
